A school capable of understanding the new digital culture

Just a few days ago I was reading the last opinion column written by Aitor Lázpita in Cuadernos de Pedagogía, where he wonders if we have not turned technology into the Deus ex machina of the school, this is, something external that comes to solve all problems, in this case the problems of our schools. This reflection seems especially relevant to me to be in the context of this course, where technology is seen as a lever for change and for transformation of the reality of educational organizations. The DigCompOrg framework is certainly ambitious in this sense, as technology in…

The School We Want

Reflecting on the reason behind our activities as teachers will help us to successfully face our day-to-day in the classroom, and for this, we need to see ourselves as part of a community. Obviously, the most immediate and tangible is the one that constitutes our closest environment: our educational center. In addition, The good usage of technology in the educative centers is not just…

The course will analyse and tackle this challenge from three complementary dimensions: the pedagogical dimension (which includes all aspects related to the teaching and learning practice, to the curricula contents, and to the assessment practices), the organisational dimension (which includes leadership and governance practices, professional development and collaboration and networking) and the…
